The City Surface, where Impact District takes place has three different districts, the Working District made for collecting materials and resources for the other districts, the Forge District, for making weapons and tools, as smithing is a large part in ivory culture, and the humanities district where majority of the humans in the surface city live and remain in.
The climate of the city surface is on the cooler side, usually being in the 70’s in summer and spring, and snow is frequent
The city originated from the first entrance between the surface and subsurface, and there are more unknown entrances deeper in the tunnels
The Working and Forge Districts are not made with humans in mind, however humans visit the working district as it is much less dangerous compared to the Forge
In general, the districts aren’t super walkable with the humanities district being the exception, which is why there are tunnels beneath the city, however there is a subway for humans because the tunnels are too damp and cold
The Working District
- The Working District was created to gather resources for the Forge and Humanities Districts, and raise funds for larger projects / expanding the city
- The majority of the Working District is underground, only expanding outside to create a boundary between the Forge and Humanities Districts
- The Working District is much more bland compared to the other districts, but ivories and humans alike still try to create art, mostly murals and sculptures
- The inside of the Working District is very damp/humid and often cold. it’s also much bigger than it seems
- The Working District tries to maintain ivory culture, like art and gladiator fights
The Forge District
- The Forge District (aka The Forge) is the smallest district, made to develop tools, weapons, armor, and just about anything to do with smithing
- The Forge is extremely hot, and humans are not allowed inside, and most wood ivories are not willing to enter in fear that their shell would burn up
- The Forge appearance-wise would be similar to a giant furnace or chimney from the outside, an a red-hot abyss on the inside, with smithing tools and applications on the inside
The Humanities District
- The Humanities District is where majority of the humans (and ivories) actually live
- while the Working District had a couple areas where people could get snacks, and hang out, the Humanities District was made FOR people, ivories however live there too.
- The architecture of this district is similar to apartments in san Francisco, but more colorful.
- The Humanities District also has all sorts of restaurants, varying in style and genre.
